How the House of Work emerged

Many of the major societal issues facing cities today go beyond the scope of a single discipline, whether in social, environmental, economic, or political areas.

To address and solve complex problems, we need to challenge the status quo and strengthen both our will and ability to work together. But how do we accomplish this?

H.o.W. brings together different persons and mediate, facilitate and streamline the collobration process, with a clear goal ahead: to create more liveable, resillient, sustainable and inclusive environments.

How we describe our work

H.o.W. coordinates collaborative urban projects, from initial analysis of stakeholder interests and conflicts to implementing action plans and everything in-between.

H.o.W. facilitates meetings and mediate outside of meetings by experimenting with methods and techniques from a range of fields, including psychological and educational research, cultural, institutional, organizational, and communicative theory. We aim to understand when what strategies for collaboration work, and why they do or do not.

H.o.W. initiates and support team-building efforts for external projects. By analyzing the unique contexts, challenges, and opportunities you face, we propose and assemble a dynamic team comprising a diverse range of disciplines and expertise.

H.o.W. is all about the How

We firmly believe that understanding how intercultural, interagency, and interdisciplinary work processes unfold is as important as apprehending what needs to be done and why it is essential.

Our mission is to help civil, public, and private actors in urban environments work more effectively across disciplines, cultures, lifestyles, power dynamics, rationalities, paradigms, and bureaucracies.
